Student Support Programs
Title I Services
Title I programs and services are designed to support students in meeting challenging academic standards and to close achievement gaps. Title I is a federally funded program under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which provides financial assistance to schools with higher numbers of students from low-income families to help ensure that all children have a fair and equitable opportunity to succeed. Bristol-Plymouth is designated as a Title I school and is able to use funds schoolwide.
At Bristol-Plymouth, Title I funding supports extended school day and year programs, such as In-Person and Virtual Homework Help, Directed Studies (Attendance Make-Up), and the Summer Academic Academy. The school is focused on providing mathematics and literacy supports to help students strengthen their skills and succeed in meeting the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and state performance standards.
As a parent, you play a vital role in your child’s success. You can support your child by attending Parent/Teacher Conferences and informational nights, encouraging participation in extra help sessions, and reviewing your child's Aspen account, homework, and Google Classrooms regularly.
Title I parent information will be available during Parent/Teacher Conferences on November 20, 2025

Multilingual Learners
Bristol-Plymouth offers an English Learner Education (ELE) program for students whose first language is not English. The program provides instruction that supports multilingual learners (MLs) in developing English proficiency while ensuring full access to academic content. English language instruction is delivered by a licensed English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, and students also receive Sheltered English Instruction (SEI) from their content-area teachers. Bristol-Plymouth provides ongoing professional development to all educators to strengthen their ability to integrate English language development strategies and effectively support multilingual learners across the curriculum.
As required by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), all students enrolling at Bristol-Plymouth complete a Home Language Survey. Students who indicate a language other than English are screened using the WIDA ACCESS Placement Test (W-APT) or WIDA Screener to determine eligibility for English Learner Education services. Each year, multilingual learners participate in the ACCESS for ELLs assessment to measure growth in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English. Instruction for MLs is guided by the WIDA English Language Development Standards Framework.
Multilingual learners participate fully in all academic classes and career technical education programs at Bristol-Plymouth with appropriate language supports in place.
To promote strong partnerships with families, Bristol-Plymouth provides translated materials and interpretation services for non-English-speaking families, including for meetings, tours, and parent/teacher conferences, upon request.
