Based on the findings of the school reopening task forces and the recommendations of the Superintendent/Director, the School Committee has approved a plan for Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School to begin the school year with a hybrid learning model, in which approximately half of the students are engaged in person at school, and half in remote learning at home, on a rotating basis.

See the presentation to the School Committee here.

    Highlights of the plan include:

    • Students alternating between in-person and remote learning on a six-day cycle, under the school’s existing A/B week model. Having fewer students in the building every day helps ensure physical distancing of at least six feet at all times.
    • Any family can opt for full remote learning.
    • The school will implement comprehensive health and safety protocols, including mandatory face coverings, hand washing, symptom screening, extensive facility cleaning and sanitizing, and more. All students, families, and staff will participate in training to learn about these protocols.
    • Adjustments will be made to other aspects of the school day, including bus transportation and meal service, to ensure distancing and safety.
    • The school will provide additional social-emotional supports for students as needed.
