Program of Study

Freshman Year: Awareness of the inner workings of the trade, demonstrate the ability to communicate successfully, meet workplace standards and ethics, understand the industry from the role of health and safety issues to the role of business, project a professional image while mastering skills in shampoo, styling, and treatments.

Sophomore Year: Design Principles Course emphasizing the fundamentals of hair design, Salon Ecology Coursework that covers sanitation and hygiene.

Junior Year: Chemical Services I Course, anatomy

Senior Year: Chemical Services II Course, salon marketing

Career Opportunities

Upon completing 1,000 hours of instruction in the Cosmetology Clinic, students are prepared to take the state licensing examination in Cosmetology. Post-secondary degree programs are available in Cosmetology Management and Teacher Training.
