Program Description

Business and Applied Technologies provides the skills necessary to meet the ever-changing trends in business, marketing, and computer industries. Students use various software programs and are prepared to become self-sufficient, contributing members of the business, marketing, and/or computer communities. Students apply learned marketing skills within a small business environment and operate the school store!

Utilizing current office technology, equipment, and software programs, students will prepare for Microsoft Office Specialist Certification. Students will also be given the opportunity to attain a nationally recognized Financial Literacy Certification. They also experience the business environment through their work with the school store and junior/senior cooperative placement opportunities.

In addition to technical skills, the major emphases of the curriculum are effective communication and critical thinking and problem solving skills. Specialized instruction is provided based on student skill levels and interests. Graduates begin careers in a wide venue of business opportunities or pursue further education in business, marketing, administration, finance, management, web design, computer applications and many more.
