Mentor Program

  • Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School has an exciting opportunity to become involved with our students!!!  We are recruiting professionals to become Mentors to our sophomore students in our 18 technical areas. The program is designed to support career exploration within a student’s technical area.

The goals of the program are:

    • Students to have the opportunity to build a relationship with their mentor and discuss their futures.
    • Heighten a student's awareness of the many career opportunities that are available in their particular technical area.
    • Acquaint students with skills that are needed to be successful, productive member of the workforce.

The program will be begin in January and end in June.  We ask that mentor matches meet at least once a month.  Activities will be scheduled each month for mentor matches with the assistance of the school liaison. Activities will include a tour of the mentor’s place of employment, tour of a local college, career assessments, and meeting with guidance staff.  Some tours will be arranged by the school, while other tours will be scheduled through the mentor and mentee.  At the end of the student’s sophomore year, the Mentor match can decide if they wish to continue working together in the student’s junior year.

If you can not be a mentor, but would like to offer a tour of your business please let us know.

If you have any questions please contact Kerrie Carrelas at 508-823-5151x130.  I hope you will be a Mentor!
