Collision Technology
What looks as good as a newly-painted car or a shiny, dent-free
truck? If your answer is "Nothing!" Collision Technology
could be the field for you. Using technical methods and specialized
equipment, students learn to restore collision damaged vehicles.
They are exposed to all facets of the process, including sanding,
filling, straightening, repainting and refinishing the inside and
the outside of vehicles, as well as performing cost estimates.
Facilities
A modern facility, less than five years old, with two state-of-the-art
spray booths and prep stations as well as an industry standard frame
repair system, computer measuring system, and paint mixers.
Recipe for Success
Take a student with physical dexterity and mechanical aptitude,
add reading and math skills, and sprinkle a liberal amount of patience
and willingness to learn a variety of tasks. Successful technicians
in this field combine skills in metalworking, welding, painting,
refinishing and estimating.
Career Highlights
The first self-propelled vehicle was in an accident the first time
it was driven, a fact that suggests there will always be collisions

industries in the country.
