Automotive Technology
If you’re crazy about cars, and would like to turn your interest
into expertise, this could be the technical program for you! Today’s
technicians must develop expertise in math, diagnostics, hydraulics,
and electrical/electronics along with strong problem-solving skills.
At Bristol-Plymouth we take pride in offering high quality education
with hands-on learning to provide you with the skills you will need
to succeed in the industry. Our program is certified by ASE through
NATEF and is in partnership with the Automotive Youth Educational
System (AYES).
Facilities
Our state-of-the-art facilities meet industry standards, with hand
tools and diagnostic equipment regularly evaluated by automotive
industry representatives. A Diagnostic Center, new in 2005, provides
additional specialized automotive training. Repair and diagnostic
areas are comparable to area dealerships.
Recipe for Success
Start with a positive attitude and love of cars, and add communication
skills and a good background in science and math to become a great
automotive student.
Career Highlights
Well trained technicians with a strong work ethic are highly sought
after, especially in today’s fast paced world. At Bristol-Plymouth,
we offer students a comprehensive curriculum in a certified program
to prepare them well for high demand jobs. Through NATEF, ASE certifies
our curriculum in engine repair, automatic transmission/transaxle,
manual drive train, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical
systems, HVAC, and engine performance. We encourage students to
pursue higher education after graduation, and some students begin
that process even in high school. Through the Tech Prep program,
for example, Bristol-Plymouth students can earn college credit for
courses completed in high school.
