Practical Nurse Program

Bristol Plymouth Regional Technical School offers a Practical Nurse Program which is fully approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. Graduation from the program qualifies the student to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Requirements

  1. Resident of member community: Berkley, Bridgewater, Middleborough, Raynham, Taunton. Residents of these communities are given priority.
  2. A completed application form () with a $25.00 application fee.
  3. Must be a High School Graduate or possess a GED
  4. Pre-testing -- Educational Resources, Inc. Nurse Entrance Test with a composite percentage of 50. Math skills score of 50 and reading comprehension score of 50. You must register by calling the school in October.
  5. Interview with coordinator and/or faculty member of Admissions Committee
  6. Official High School Transcript. An average of C or better in high school is preferred with consideration for trends demonstrating improvement and motivation. Consideration is given to students who have pursued courses of study with a concentration in the Sciences, Social Studies, Mathematics, and English.
  7. Three references, at least one of which concerns former or present employment if possible
  8. Immunizations as required by the Department of Public health: three doses of Hepatitis B, one Td booster within the last 10 years, 2 doses of measles, one dose of mumps, and one dose of rubella vaccine
  9. Pre-entrance physical examination is required of all accepted students

An applicant who has been convicted in a court of law may not be eligible for licensure by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. It is the responsibility of the applicant to furnish information concerning any conviction at the time of application for licensing for determination by the board of an applicant's compliance with MGL Chapter 112, section 74A.

Full Time Day Program Tuition 2008-2009:

In-district students - $6,000; Out-of-district students- $7,000

Part Time evening Program: Enrolls every two years.

The application process will begin in Fall 2008 for enrollment in the class beginning in September 2009.

*Bristol Plymouth does not participate in student federal financial aid programs.
