At Bristol-Plymouth Technical, our students have a wide variety of after-school and extracurricular clubs and activities to choose from. We currently offer:

AAA TROUBLESHOOTING
In Automotive technology the students are able to showcase their learned skills and knowledge by competing in automotive competitions. Every September all grade 10 through 12 automotive students take a written exam for a chance to qualify for the Massachusetts Automotive Dealers Association Competition which is a hands-on competition made up of work stations and on car repairs. This competition is held in conjunction with the International Auto Show in Boston every year in November. In February, a select group of grade 11 and 12 automotive students will also take an on-line exam for a chance to qualify for the Ford/AAA Troubleshooting Competition which takes place in April. The Ford/AAA Competition allows the students to compete against other teams from other schools on ten new Ford vehicles that are identically faulted in a race against the clock to repair correctly in the shortest amount of time. Both competitions allow the students to win awards, tools, equipment, and scholarships to post-secondary technical colleges with automotive degrees.

DANCE CLUB
On Saturday, February 7, 2009 the Bristol-Plymouth Dance Team made their first appearance at the Marshfield High School Dance Challenge. Competing against ten teams from other high schools, the team came away with high honors, particularly impressive considering they are a brand new team and this was their first performance. The ten member team scored 84 points which earned them a silver award in the Large Jazz Group. This score of 84 was just 1 point shy of the gold award. They also won a special award for "Moves, Flows and Flies" which recognized them as having the most precise transitions of all the schools in the competition. The team is coached by Susan Winter-Clark.

LITERARY CLUB
This club encourages students to write original essays on a variety of topics.

MERIT CLUB
The Bristol-Plymouth Merit Club was established over 30 years ago to recognize the “extra ordinary efforts” of Bristol-Plymouth students.

Many times students will do something that may be beyond the normal scope of their educational experience and should be recognized for their efforts. For example, students have been awarded merits in the past for:

• helping a teacher or another student prepare for a special presentation after-school
• serving as a guide during the Advisory Board dinner, Open House, Parent-Teacher night
• distributing programs at graduation.

Upon earning 50 merits a student is inducted into the Merit Club at the annual Merit Club breakfast, usually in May, where students also receive a Certificate of Merit and a Merit Club pin. Most inductees are in their senior year when they reach the 50 merit mark.
